Eric J. Cox obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration at Temple University in 1968. He attended Temple University School of Law at night aided by a Pennsylvania Senatorial Scholarship and a Scholarship from his employer, the Insurance Company of North America.

In August of 1973, prior to graduation from Law School, he was selected as Law Clerk to the Honorable Richard S. Lowe, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County. In May of 1974, after passing the February Bar Examination, (having completed his studies in December of 1973), Eric J. Cox was appointed an Assistant District Attorney for Montgomery County. He served 4 years trying cases including misdemeanors, felonies and homicides. In 1978 he was appointed Chief of the Appeals Division.

In 1979 he left the District Attorney's Office and embarked upon a career in the private practice of law. Mr. Cox developed a client base in family practice, insurance subrogation law, estate administration, wills and trusts, criminal law and personal injury law. He also came to represent numerous small businesses.

After 7 years of practicing as a partner in various firms, he entered the solo practice of law which he continues through today in Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He provides legal services in the five-county surrounding area including Montgomery County, Bucks County, Delaware County, Chester County and Philadelphia.

Since 1968 he has lived in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His substantial community involvement includes past president of the Whitemarsh Lions Club, past secretary of the Plymouth-Whitemarsh Exchange Club, Member of the Father's Rights organization, member of Fritz Lodge #380 F.&A.M., member of the LuLu Shriners, and little league coach. For a number of years he taught criminal law at the Montgomery County Community College and Search and Seizure law at the State Police Academy. He was a guest lecturer at the Montgomery County Community College in the Legal Secretary program.

His professional memberships and activities include active involvement in the Montgomery Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He has served on many committees including, at present, the Fee Dispute Committee and the General Practice Committee. He is admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania (1974), the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (1976), the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (1976) and the Supreme Court of the United States of America (1978).

He is married and the father of three grown children. He enjoys his free time with his grandson and triplet granddaughters, playing golf and traveling. He works a full schedule including many Saturdays and evenings. His wife is a paralegal/bookkeeper, his oldest son is a lawyer, his daughter is a teacher and his youngest son is a graduate of Temple University School of Communications.
